We have now entered a partnership with
the local Universities and People Matter Charitable organisation to place autistic people into paid employment and work experience placements with local employers in areas of their interest. This we hope will give employers the confidence to employ more autistic people in various faculties. The emphasis being to match the right employers with the right employees with interests, talents and skills that go with the job offered. We are currently looking for an autistic person who can do admin work (supported training available) with Eastbourne Chamber of Commerce. We would love to hear from you!!!!
Congratulations To Kathy the Manageress of Kids Stuff, Arndale Centre
She will be introducing ‘Quiet Hour”.  The idea was to open only for customers with sensory processing difficulties for an hour after closing to the rest of the public at 5.30pm on Thursdays.  However, after consulting with service users it became apparent that  The time was not right for most parents  with younger children and Kathy text 07476418135 or contact us or facebook on the links below. Thank you.
Going an extra mile
The manageress of HSBC Eastbourne, Maxine White has gone an extra mile : she offers a side quiet room to anyone who shows the Stress Alert Card. Staff will do your transaction while you  entertain your child from the quiet room.  The same applies to adults in the similar situation
World Autism Week   March 27 - April 2nd
It is that time of the year again when we raise awareness of autism to our neighbours, our town/city, our nation and the world.  We will have our banner up in Eastbourne town Centre again.  we will also have an information stall somewhere in terminus road. Will let you know  the exact venue.  Thank you for your continued support.
Training
More Arndale Centre retailers: Bonmache, Primark, Bags and Marks and Spencer as well as  more  Security Guards and Cleaning staff  have just had their autism training.
The general feedback from most Arndale staff is that following their autism training, they are now more aware of individual showing signs of being overwhelmed by the environment without necessarily  being shown the Stress Alert Card.  Personally, I think this is a fantastic thing to happen in our town for the autistic community.  The Work Carries on.
